Daylight Therapy Policies
Late Cancelation Please remember to cancel or reschedule 24 hours in advance. You will be responsible for the entire fee if cancellation is less than 24 hours.
The standard meeting time for psychotherapy is 50 minutes. We do not recommend ending sessions early as we want our clients to benefit as much as possible from our scheduled time. Requests to change the 50-minute session needs to be discussed with the therapist.
A $10.00 service charge will be charged for any checks returned for any reason for special handling.
Cancellations and re-scheduled session will be subject to a $100 charge if NOT RECEIVED AT LEAST 24 HOURS IN ADVANCE. This is necessary because a time commitment is made to you and is held exclusively for you. If you are late for a session, you may lose some of that session time.
Our system sends out multiple reminders for each session including a reminder 24 hours before your session time.
No ShowAny client that does not arrive to their session they will be subject to a $100 charge. If you will be more than 15 minutes late it is at your therapist’s discretion to still proceed with the session. This is necessary because a time commitment is made to you and is held exclusively for you.
Why does a therapist charge late cancelation or no show fees? We never want to charge a fee for a missed session. We would much rather be able to meet you with for your full session time. The fee is essentially a deposit placed on your slot and is charged only in the event of a no show or late cancelation. We do not charge if your cancelation request comes in at least 24 hours in advance because we will possibly be able to offer this slot to a different client.
TelehealthTo ensure therapy is as effective as possible, it is ideal for the client to give each session their full attention. Please be aware of the below when scheduling a telehealth session:
Please ensure if you are in your vehicle that you will be able to remain stationary for the entire session.
Please ensure that you are in a private, quiet area (please do not attempt a session in a public place or with others in the immediate vicinity)
Please ensure that you have an adequate wifi connection or cell phone signal
Please ensure that you are not laying down in bed during session
Please ensure that your camera is operational (most insurance plans require telehealth to include video for the session to be covered)
If the above requirements are not met when the therapist begins the call then the therapist can terminate the call and the client will be responsible for the late cancellation fee.
Social Media Due to the importance of your confidentiality and the importance of minimizing dual relationships, I do not accept friend or contact requests from current or former clients on any social networking site (Facebook, LinkedIn, etc). I believe that adding clients as friends or contacts on these sites can compromise your confidentiality and our respective privacy. It may also blur the boundaries of our therapeutic relationship. If you have questions about this, please bring them up when we meet and we can talk more about it.
Unable to Process Payments/Outstanding Balances If we are unable to process your card on file at the time of your session then we will send a link so that you can take care of this payment. If any outstanding balances are not taken care of before your upcoming session(s) then all future sessions will be canceled. Once a balance is paid in full OR a payment plan is arranged then we can resume sessions. If a payment plan is selected you are still responsible for copays and session fees as usual.
